Leave A Lasting Legacy with Planned Giving

Consider Including HEP in Your Will, Trust or Estate Plan.

With more and more individuals, Veterans and families on the verge of homelessness, the programs and critical support services offered on the HEP campus are of vital importance to our community. And while you may be unsure of a way to support HEP given the uncertainty of these times, the opportunity to create a planned gift is a powerful way to make a lasting impact and create a legacy that won’t cost you anything today.

Selecting the right charitable estate planning vehicle allows you to maximize the financial and tax benefits of your gift to the organization through your estate – creating a larger gift than you thought possible, and impacting the organization for years to come.

How can I leave a legacy with HEP?

Making a gift to HEP through your estate plan can benefit you and your loved ones while supporting a cause that is near and dear to your heart. Some gifts can even offer an immediate tax deduction and pay you income from your investments for the rest of your life. Legacy gifts of any size are a meaningful expression of your values and a lasting gift to the people and causes you hold dear.

Including HEP in your will is not the only way to leave a legacy gift, you can also consider leaving a gift to HEP in the following ways:

  • Charitable Gift Annuities
  • Charitable Trusts
  • Retirement Assets and IRA Giving
  • Gifts of Life Insurance
  • Real Estate Gifts
  • Point of Death Transfers

HEP also welcomes Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) directly from an IRA by donors aged 70½ and older in accordance with IRS regulations. These tax-advantaged gifts allow eligible donors to transfer up to $105,000 annually without recognizing the distribution as taxable income. In addition, a QCD can count toward satisfying your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), making it a powerful way to meet IRS requirements while supporting a cause you care about.

You don’t have to be a millionaire, and you are never to young too start making a plan!
